While completing her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, Mandy was introduced to the prosthetics industry by a family friend. Mandy traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada to shadow a Prosthetist named Robert Brooks, CPO and after a few short hours she immediately knew this was the career for her. Mandy’s official prosthetics training began at Scott Sabolich Prosthetics & Research Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. There she trained under direction of Scott Sabolich, CP, LP and Jay Martin, CP, LP learning the principles of prosthetic design and the importance of one-on-one patient care. After completing her engineering education, Mandy attended California State Dominguez Hills Prosthetic Certification program in Aliso Viejo, California. Her residency was completed in Phoenix, Arizona under the direction of Randy West, CP. While working in Arizona, Mandy also had the privilege of working with Jack Ullendahl, CP and Upper Extremity Specialist on several unique prosthetic cases. Mandy and her husband moved to Colorado Springs in the fall of 2005 and immediately knew this was home.
Mandy is certified by Otto Bock Healthcare to fit the Helix3D Hip Joint System, a revolutionary prosthetic hip joint which has 3-dimensional motion with hydraulic control.
